Green Technology, what is it?
This field of technology, that consist a continuously evolving group of methods and materials, from techniques for generating energy to non-toxic cleaning products.
The goals that inform developments in this rapidly growing field include:
Sustainability: Meeting the needs of society in ways that can continue indefinatly into the future without depleting natural resources.
"Cradle to Cradle" Design: Created products that can be fully reclaimed or re-used.
Source Reduction: Reduce waste and pollution by charging patterns of production and consumption.
Innovation: Developing alternatives to technology, whether fossil fuel or chemical intensive aggroculture, that have been demonstrated to damage the world.
Viability: Creating a center of economic activity around technologies and products that benefit the environment, speeding their implementation and crafting.

Now I will explain this solid waste management hierarchy graph. The top is better then the bottom. So, source reduction, aka reserving, is top preferred, because then things we all use, like electricity or more, we save for later use. Reuse, is also near the top, because people are reusing products that seem finished (cans, etc), Recycling, is also part of the top 3, because people will be taking those finished items, but instead of reusing, they throw it into a recycle bin, and is taken to a recycling plant to be made into the product again, instead of it being wasted. Resource Recovery is part of the top 3 least preferred, because its taking an item, and destroying it normally, and just mass producing more. Incineration, is when you take one of these items, and just burn it to an ash, and then throw it out, or use it for nothing and stack it at a junk yard. Finally, the worst of them all, landfill's. Its where people did a huge ditch, or use a man made hole, that has a sink middle. People throw in their trash, and when it pills up enough, it sinks under the ground, so there's more room for trash. Its a total waste of an item.
